The definition of art varies widely among cultures, but many contemporary definitions recognize art as a process of communication, or an act of expressing feelings or ideas by applying skill and creativity. Basically, art is our way of sharing our experiences with others. When we create something – be it a painting, a sculpture, a song – we’re making something that was once only in our minds tangible for others to experience. Essentially, we’re turning intangible thoughts into something real. And that’s beautiful. It’s also incredibly important; art helps us connect to other people on a deeper level, because art conveys values and emotions that are oftentimes difficult to express verbally. And while not all creations are instantly successful (as much as one might wish otherwise), there’s often value in trying. For whatever it’s worth, no one has ever regretted doing something they love! As Confucius said: Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life. And if anyone understands passion projects it’s artists! Of course, there are tons of different kinds of arts out there; each has its own distinctive style and personality which attract audiences who enjoy similar work.
